My musical life in a nutshell
My musical roots began in Portland, Oregon at the age of six. Ukulele was my start and then moved on to the acoustic and electric guitars. I was fortunate to be a student of Ethos, School of Rock, and Rock & Roll Camp for Girls. I fell in love with playing the guitar and it still is my passion. I have explored many different styles of music through the years: such as heavy metal, rock, jazz and the blues. At this time in my life I am focusing on the blues with my band Taylor Newville and the Riders. The band started with a huge bump when we were regional finalists for The Journey to Memphis Blues competition at the 2023 Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon. I’ve been nominated for the 2023 and 2024, 2025, Blues Association Muddy Awards- Celebrating the Best in the NW Blues - for Best New Artist 2023/2024/2025 Contemporary Blues Act 2024/2025. Performance of the Year-Sail on Sisters / 2024 Waterfront Blues Festival and 2025 Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. My band, Taylor Newville and the Riders have been playing big stages including: Waterfront Blues Festival, Cathedral Jazz Festival, MD 25 Festival, Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival, and the headliner for the 2025 Peninsula Blues Festival. Also, my band traveled to Memphis, Tennessee during the 2026 International Blues Challenge. My band played in the National Women in Blues show case stage at Alfred’s bar on Beale street and Club 152 for the Pacific Northwest showcase stage on Beale Street. Also, we performed on Radio Memphis Live! In 2023, I was also able to produce two CDs/EPs with my originals and my new CD/EP “Find My Way” just was released July 2025 and was nominated for best Northwest recording in the 2025 Muddy Awards in Portland, Oregon. Life is so good when I can play the blues! Check out my music on Spotify, Apple music, Amazon music and other streaming platforms.
