JD Simo A three piece power trio with a small stage footprint and an explosive live show. Think Hendrix meets early Gov’t Mule. In June of 2018 JD was asked to join Phil Lesh & Friends for an evening dubbed Dead Blues Live at Terrapin Crossroads. JD Simo spins soulful psychedelic blues rock with an improvisational bent reminiscent of the Grateful Dead and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Though he's been performing in bands since his teenage years, the 28-year-old has begun to get national attention with his namesake group, SIMO. - Rolling Stone With their styling, musical references, and equipment drawn from the 1960s, it would be easy to dismiss SIMO as some sort of ironic retro lark. Nothing could be further from the truth. Like Jack White and The Black Keys, JD Simo and his band have taken what was great about the rock music of another era-warm tone, direct emotions, freedom to experiment-and adapted it to now. - Premier Guitar New album due out on January 25, 2019.
