The Missing 23rd, a melodic hardcore punk band from Oxnard, California, emerged from the heart of the Nardcore scene in 1995 and remained active through 2004. Blending classic hardcore aggression with melodic punk influences, the band became known for socially conscious, DIY-driven, and anti-conformist lyrics.
Over the years, The Missing 23rd released several records and built a reputation for intense live performances, sharing the stage with influential acts such as Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, T.S.O.L., and GBH, as well as later-generation bands including AFI, Good Riddance, Earth Crisis, and Propagandhi.
The band also broke new ground for the Ventura County punk scene, becoming the first local band to tour internationally with performances across Europe and Japan, in addition to touring throughout the United States and Canada.
Now, for the first time in two years, The Missing 23rd return to the stage to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
Joining them for this special event will be several bands connected to vocalist John Crerar, who is celebrating his 50th birthday. The evening will feature performances by stoner metal heathens,The Fucking Wrath (Tee Pee Records), fast hardcore headbangers Stop Breathing (No Idea Records), silly Dadcore dudes Dad Brains (Pirate Press Records), 90's punkers Dick Circus, anrcho punks Peter Pan's Army, & power violence shredders Emmanuel Lewis, along with a few surprise appearances throughout the night.
