With a host of genre-bending compositions and driving grooves, the progressive jazz group Jazz Robots is out to deliver their infectious energy to the city of Chicago. Formed as a duo in 2013 by drummer Jonah Lazarus and violinist Scott Daniel, Jazz Robots quickly developed not only a repertoire of innovative original tunes but also a strong group rapport that reveals itself in their tightly woven instrumental textures and improvisations. Today, the band — typically supplemented by saxophonist Max Lazarus and bassist Caleb Allan, who appear on the group's debut EP "Jazz Robots Learn To Ride A Bike (With Training Wheels)" — plays regularly in the Chicago area while continuing to craft their eclectic sound in a second EP, slated for recording this winter.
