Record Producer, Jazz Drummer, and Folkloric Percussionist Jason Lee Bruns co-writes/arranges for this multi-genre inspired 8-piece crossover world jazz ensemble. The group is fronted by vocalist kevin Baché (pronounced “bah-SHAY”) and backed by a 3-piece horn section and traditional jazz rhythm section comprised of L.A.s top jazz musicians all of whom are faculty at top music schools and/or toured and recorded with major label artists. The group performs regularly at L.A.’s top jazz venues including Catalina, Vibrato, and Vitello’s and will be heading for their second tour in Japan this July. Their last two albums “Cherry Avenue” and “Live at Catalina”, produced by Bruns, were Top-10 charting albums and aired for several years on ~300 radio stations nationwide including L.A.’s  KJAZZ 88.1FM. The group has garnered numerous media reviews from reputable music publications and artists in both print & digital. Outside of this band Jason has performed on Beck’s “Sound & Vision”, a Game of Thrones season III commercial, with Lewis Price of The Temptations, and with 2x BBC Jazz Award winner Liane Carroll. Bruns holds a Master’s in Jazz from USC, and a Master’s in Recording Arts from Berklee. Bruns is published by the Percussive Arts Society, has been a guest lecturer and performer for St. Petersburg College and Jazz Festival, and is the founder of the innovative World Music and Recording Arts programs at Campbell Hall (a top private high school in Southern California). Bruns’ playing style and arranging ideas are strongly influenced by his folkloric drumming study in Cuba, Guinea (West Africa), several regions of Brazil, and Trinidad & Tobago.  He is next headed to Columbia this April to study the roots of the influential rhythm know as “Cumbia”.
