James Coates has used deeply-personal songs to connect with audiences across the Northwest for the past 15 years. His soulful brand of Americana blends genres to create a sound that harkens back to the golden age of ‘60s and ‘70s songwriting.
Seattle Weekly has compared him to artists like Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. He’s headlined Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe, opened for national acts like Sheryl Crow and received airplay on radio powerhouse KEXP.
Following his positively-reviewed 2020 album 'One Last Ride,' Coates offers up “Make Peace,” a new single that asks listeners to “make peace with your neighbors down the road, and give love to everyone you know.”

Full of outlaw country, bluegrass, and northwest music you oughta know, Great American Trainwreck combines melodic riffs, thoughtful lyrics and heavenly harmonies to define their progressive approach to traditional genres. Hailing from Seattle, the band formed in 2016 when Chuck and Stephanie met in his basement apartment to play cover songs by Alison Krauss and EmmyLou Harris. The songwriting began and they were soon joined by the talents of Dave (drums), Dan (bass), Andy (keys), and Judd (guitar & vocals). No longer confined to the basement, they are currently working on their 3rd studio album while touring extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest.

“I want to make music that people can relate to and feel passionate about, but also makes it impossible for them not to move!" says James Redfern, Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist from Poulsbo, WA. "Like Maroon 5 meets John Mayer, with hair on it's chest" James replies when asked to describe his sound.
Armed with a handful of tunes, James headed into the studio with friends Alex Westcoat (Drums; Pickwick, David Bazan, Ivan & Alyosha), Bennet Pullen (Bass; Eclectic Approach, Tommy Simmons), & Dan Walker (Keys; Red Jacket Mine, Leroy Bell) to craft an E.P. of songs that, while vulnerable, are still full of energy and momentum.
