Born October 31, 1963, in Alexandria, Virginia, Dermot Mulroney was raised in a creatively inclined household. His mother was a regional theater actress and his father a law professor and lawyer. At just seven, Dermot began playing the cello—a training ground that would become a lifelong passion.
