Kate played Meredith, the accident-prone, drunken tart on all nine seasons of NBC’s THE OFFICE, and for some actresses that would have been enough. Not Kate. She’s gotta put on a red polyester jumpsuit and sing like a maniac in front of a live audience on a regular basis in her original comedy lounge act, THE LAMPSHADES. TV audiences know her as the host of TVGuide Network’s all-female standup show, STAND UP IN STILETTOS. Kate’s a Philadelphia native from a big family of seven kids. A bar owner’s daughter, she was lucky enough to start her career in Chicago where she ran with the finest group of funny people in show business. She worked in the Second City National Touring Company, in Del Close’s Improv Olympic and the Annoyance Theater where she did a ton of shows like  the MISS VAGINA PAGEANT and THE REAL LIVE BRADY BUNCH (which she toured with to over 30 cities). She won critical acclaim and more importantly the approval of her drag queen friend playing Neely O’Hara in L.A. at The Coast Playhouse and Off-Broadway at the Circle in the Square in VALLEY OF THE DOLLS. She used to sing with John “They Might Be Giants” Flansburg’s other band, Mono Puff.
