  • Bill Lloyd

    Country

Bill Lloyd is a Nashville-based award winning songwriter, Grammy nominated recording artist, musician and producer who is most often remembered as half of the late ‘80’s RCA country-rock duo, Foster and Lloyd. Lloyd’s diverse musical activities include working as a producer (ranging from Carl Perkins to MTV reality show indie-rockers, The Secret), a session player (from Brit-pop icons like Ray Davies of The Kinks, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze and Ringo Starr) to country legends (Buck Owens and Steve Earle), a sideman (Poco, Marshall Crenshaw and with Cheap Trick when they performed The Beatles Sgt. Pepper with orchestra) and as a songwriter (with songs cut by Trisha Yearwood, Graham Gouldman, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Hootie and the Blowfish and many more). He has recorded a string of critically acclaimed solo records that blend his melodic power pop sensibility with finely tuned song craft. During his stint as the Stringed Instrument Curator at The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, he helped create and host over forty programs of the quarterly series Nashville Cats.. He was the music director for the First Amendment Center’s Freedom Sings program 1999-2019. He also organized and plays in Nashville’s high concept cover band, The Long Players profiled on NPR’s All Things Considered. In 2019, Project: Ghost Outfit with Tom Petersson, Adam Shoenfeld and Keith Brogdon was digitally released. His most recent solo recordings can be found on both the Spyderpop label (Lloyd*ering in 2016 and Working the Long Game in 2018) and his own imprint, Whole In One (2GTRSBSDRMS in 2019 and Don’t Kill the Messenger in 2020).
  • Pat Terry

    Country

Singer/Songwriter Pat Terry was born in 1952, and grew up in the groundbreaking days of American rock 'n roll. His earliest musical memories revolve around a jukebox that played in the restaurant owned and operated by his father. The music of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Horton became the soundtrack for summers spent working in the family business. It wasn't until the Beatles invaded America however, that Terry picked up a guitar and began making music of his own. At age twelve, he formed a band that remained together throughout his high school years.

In 1970, those early influences began to surface when Terry began songwriting. As a pioneer of Contemporary Christian music, he was part of the first wave of artists to be signed to the then fledgling Myrrh Records label. Between 1974 and 1980 he wrote and recorded seven albums with his own Pat Terry Group, and toured the country playing a unique blend of inspirational country, pop, and blues, that earned him a loyal following of listeners. During that time his songs appeared on albums of a diverse list of artists that included pop singer, B.J. Thomas, country great, Ray Price, gospel songstress, Evie Tornquist, and cowboy hero, Roy Rogers. Terry's songs, "Home Where I Belong", and "I Can't Wait" became standards in the Contemporary Christian Music field. After disbanding his group in 1980, Terry recorded three critically acclaimed solo albums. Produced by his friend and fellow Georgian, Mark Heard, the recordings featured a more rock oriented sound, hearkening back to Terry's earlier influences. His heartfelt, confessional lyrics wedded to this more aggressive sound, stirred controversy in more conservative circles, but inspired a new generation of listeners who responded to the honesty and passion they heard. Once again he cut a more contemporary groove into the sound of Christian music.

In 1985 Terry decided to leave the rigors of the road and make songwriting his primary pursuit. The new tradition of country music being recorded by artists such as Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, and Emmylou Harris, inspired him and convinced him to become better acquainted with Nashville. He began making regular trips to Music City in 1986. As the co-writer of Foster and Lloyd's "Life To Yourself", he enjoyed his first country music songwriting success. He then co-authored with Travis Tritt, the singer's first number one country hit, "Help Me Hold On".

In 1992 Terry signed exclusively with Murrah Music Corporation's ASCAP affiliate, Castle Street Music, Inc. That professional association yielded a number of songs recorded by various artists including, Confederate Railroad, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Kenny Chesney. During this period Terry also enjoyed the success of two more number one country songwriters, Tanya Tucker's "It's A Little Too Late", and Sammy Kershaw's "National Working Woman's Holiday". More recently Terry's songs have appeared on albums by country hitmakers John Anderson and Tracy Byrd. In 2005, radio in both country and gospel formats played Terry's beautiful "Someplace Green", as recorded by The Oak Ridge Boys.

Pat currently writes for his own ASCAP affiliated company, End of August Music.

  • Don Henry

    Country

Grammy Award winner Don Henry's songs have been recorded by legends like:
Ray Charles, Patti Page and Conway Twitty
    By country crooners like:
Gene Watson, John Conlee and B.J. Thomas
By young hit makers of today like:
Blake Shelton, Lonestar and Miranda Lambert ….
    .....and the list goes on.

And he’s shared the stage with performers as diverse as Joey Ramone to Keith Urban.

The wit and wisdom of Don's songs are widely renowned whether it's campfire favorites, the hilarious "B.F.D." and biker lullaby "Harley", to the wonderfully poignant tribute to Martin Luther King "Beautiful Fool", and of course his Grammy Award winning country classic "Where've You Been".

In addition to a Grammy, Kathy Mattea's version of "Where've You Been" won Don (and co-writer Jon Vezner) song of the year honors from ACM (Academy of Country Music), CMA (Country Music Association) and NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International). "Where've You Been" was the first song in country music history to be awarded all four honors in the same year!
