"Rock n’ roll can save your soul.” Said many times throughout the ages, but in the case of Mark Linskey, it has never been more true. Linskey has piloted his band Hudson Falcons through 15+ years of revolving band members, 5 full-length albums, numerous splits and comps., seedy bars in different continents, heartbreak, and redemption, and has come out on the other side. Maybe a bit weary, but with a strong sense of family and the same punk rock ethos which have allowed him to come this far, Linskey and the Falcons release their 6th album, “Peace of Mind.”  Those who have followed the band have seen a progression from the hard-charging street punk of “Desperation and Revolution” to the more melodic “Dancing Underneath The Moonlight.” “Peace of Mind” follows this progression, and though the tempo may have changed, the message remains the same. This is music for the desperate masses of the working class, and the underdogs in today’s society. Like a lonely light in the Ohio rest area where Linksey wrote most of the lyrics of this album, it offers a small bit of hope in a world becoming darker. It is a culmination of years of hardships and trials, hopelessness and loss, and yet maintains a sense that there is a better time on the horizon and that the altruistic vision that every person should be happy and free still burns in us all. Rock n’ roll can definitely save souls, and “Peace of Mind” is the redeemer.
