Here’s how it works: From Friday to Monday, participants may purchase a scorecard at one of several locations around the city. Scorecards cost a recommended $10, all of which is donated to community-run free food pantries in New Orleans.
Participants then travel to different restaurants around the city, taste the dogs and rank them. (Think of it like a self-guided, ketchup-heavy bar crawl.) Some hot dogs, like two-time winner Glizzies by Poppa’s, are more traditional, while others push the boundaries of the genre.
Scorecards must be turned in by Monday, April 15, at 5 p.m., and can be returned to any of the participating locations or emailed to neworleanshotdogsafari@gmail.com.
