*Happy Hour Concert Series* featuring Hot 8 Brass Band
Hailing from the vibrant streets of New Orleans, the Hot 8 Brass Band embodies the soul and rhythm of their city's rich musical heritage. Renowned for their high-energy performances and unique blend of traditional brass sounds with elements of funk, hip-hop, and jazz, the band has captivated audiences worldwide. Formed in 1995, the Hot 8 Brass Band has become a cornerstone of New Orleans' music scene, using their art to celebrate the city's resilience and culture. Their sound carries the heartbeat of second-line parades and the improvisational spirit of jazz, earning them accolades and a Grammy nomination for their album "On the Spot."
The Hot 8 Brass Band promises electrifying grooves and soulful melodies. Their performances are not just a concert but a celebration, weaving personal stories of triumph and community spirit into every note. From their original compositions to spirited renditions of classics, the band's dynamic energy invites the audience to dance, clap, and immerse themselves in the joyous tradition of New Orleans brass band music.

The Jazz Foundation of America presents live weekly concerts free to the public now from the Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro. You can see these shows every Wednesday in person or by streaming on the JFA or Snug Harbor Facebook and YouTube pages.
This is a free performance with no ticketing. Seating is on a first come-first served basis.
This event is in collaboration with the Jazz Foundation of America.

ALL CONCERT TICKET SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. However, we do offer ticket transfers from one name to another, provided you email us your e-ticket confirmation and the name(s) you would like your ticket(s) transferred to via shows@snugjazz.com before 5pm on day of show, or sooner. You can also choose to gift your ticket(s) to our New Orleans Music Student Program where un-claimed tickets are offered to young music students and/or rising musician apprentices, if you cannot use your ticket(s). We can also transfer tickets from one show TIME to another on the SAME DATE ONLY, *provided space is available* at the time of your request. You must email shows@snugjazz.com before 5pm on day of show with your request. Tickets are NOT transferrable to a different artist/date.

Drawing on the traditional jazz heritage of their hometown of New Orleans, the Hot 8 Brass Band are renowned for including elements of funk, hip hop, rap, and its local variation, “bounce” in their music. The collective earned a win in the 64th Annual Grammy Awards 2022 for their feature on John Batiste’s ‘Album of The Year', following the nomination of their ‘The Life & Times Of…’ LP for ‘Best Regional Roots Album’ in 2013.
Transcending genres and trends, Hot 8 have performed and collaborated with the likes of Jon Batiste, Blind Boys of Alabama, Basement Jaxx and Alice Russell, and provided live support for Mos Def, Lauryn Hill and Mary J Blige. Since forming they have established a decade-long affiliation with actor/BBC 6Music DJ Craig Charles, among other tastemakers, DJs and journalists worldwide. After a festive appearance Live at Maida Vale for Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), the Hot 8 Brass Band performed for Jools Holland's annual Hootenanny on BBC Two to welcome in 2019. Later that year, after taking to the stage at the BRIT awards in February, Hot 8 Brass Band were invited on the European leg of George Ezra’s tour.
