John McNaughton shot the film for under $100k, loosely modeling its procedural violence on the real case of Henry Lee Lucas. Michael Rooker plays Henry with an ordinary stillness as the film follows him through a string of murders. Cinema Underground’s Midnight Movie programming, screening 10/24.
