Headwaves, Coach Phillips, Night Hikes

  • Headwaves

    Headwaves

    Psychedelic

Three years after their first, self-titled release, Headwaves continues their musical journey with their full-length sophomore record, titled “Belong,” with the first single, “Somewhere New,” releasing July of 2019. The album is a collection of songs that encompass the search for connection - whether a connection to oneself, community or partner.

Working again with producer, Randall Dunn, the album was recorded in the summer of 2018, finishing only moments before band member, Larson Haakenstad, moved to Prague, Czech Republic. He returns to Seattle to start releasing the record and Headwaves will play regionally in the Northwest and down the West Coast.

After now six years working together, the collaboration between Haakenstad and Ryan Barber has evolved and synergized. The sound of “Belong” draws more deeply from psychedelic guitars, energetic drums and bass while never losing sight of heavy synths, the sound that defined their first record.

    Coach Phillips

    Indie Rock

Coach Phillips is a Seattle-based indie pop/rock band comprised of Wade Phillips, Jessica Kim, Chet Baughman, Tom Moskal and Joe Oakes.

Formed amidst a series of Seattle house shows in 2017, Coach Phillips has spent the last year performing in support of their home-recorded and self-released 'Learning How to Swim' EP. Characterized by guitar-driven songwriting and a mix of witty, romantic, and melancholic lyrics, the release gained support from numerous radio outlets and was highlighted by NPR Music's 2018 'Heavy Rotation' series.

A debut Coach Phillips LP (titled ‘Never Is Enough’) is set to be released June 5th 2019 via Seattle independent label Den Tapes.

"...when it comes to summoning nostalgia, Coach Phillips really hits the nail on the (tape) head." — Capital Public Radio / NPR Music (2018)

  • Night Hikes

    Night Hikes

    Dream Pop

Night Hikes is a Seattle-based duo making dreamy synth tunes. Matthew and Olivia met in college at Notre Dame and migrated to San Diego to record their first album, “The Blue Hour,” mixed and mastered by Rusty Santos. The band has since moved to the Emerald City to match their physical environment with the vibes of their sound. In the rare moments when they are not writing or rehearsing their new tunes, you can find them in a fierce competition for who can make the best hummus. Come hang at a show sometime and help decide.
