Dreamy psych-pop band DEEPER is co-headlining tonight's show with HAUNTED SUMMER, the LA based duo comprised of two souls that lost each other in past lives and have reunited in this life. Still something of a hidden gem in Chicago's robust music community, DEEPER meld twinkling guitars with cascading rhythms airy harmonies, pushing the "dream-pop" sound into uncharted sonic territories. They packed this joint way back in early-January and left us feeling like we were floating in space, taking in the cosmos and secretly hoping to never return. You already know part of the HAUNTED SUMMER backstory (that two lost souls bit), so let's learn a little more. Since reuniting in this current incarnation, California-based humans BRIDGETTE ELIZA MOODY and JOHN SEASONS have decided to translate the deepest thoughts and sounds they had heard in the woods through the ages. The result is their debut album, Birth, a chilling, sexy head trip of languid pop music, where orchestral strings and electronic textures will have you spinning in a cosmic river of sonic goo. The LA Record says of the group, "The music definitely fulfills the definition of dream pop. The lyrical content relies heavily on longing for and reveling in young love. This is a young band with a high ceiling." Returning to our stage tonight and playing second is Chicago three-piece LALA LALA, a grungey, lo-fi trio who's catchy pop and rock songwriting swims in a river of reverb. These ladies are using the show as a sort of Welcome Back From Tour show as they spent the last month touring around the U.S. on their way to Austin for SXSW. We strongly recommend you treat your ears to their debut tape (courtesy of Manic Static) before you catch em live. Cambodian-born singer-songwriter now living in Los Angeles, BON WRAITH is the latest musical project of BONARATH BORY. This is BORY's project is his most intimate and emotionally charged work to date, with stripped down arrangements, lush, soaring melodies, and a strong emphasis on his poetic, insightful, often times, philosophical lyrics.

Deeper is a band based in Chicago Illinois and consists of Shiraz Bhatti, Mike Clawson, Nic Gohl, and Drew McBride. Formed in 2014, they initially performed dream-pop songs, but adopted a more aggressive sound in late 2015 with a stronger focus on interplay between guitars. Unsatisfied with the passivity of the previous sound, the band focuses on channeling the anxiety and uneasiness of modern life.

LALA LALA has plans to release a full length tape and 7inch through local label MANIC STATIC accompanied w/ a handful of music videos in February. They are currently booking their second tour, a month long west coast and Sxsw endevour.
