    Hank and Cupcakes

Flush with simmering sexuality and irresistible dance pulse, Hank & Cupcakes are everything you would not expect them to be. Named in reference to notorious Charles ‘Hank’ Bukowski and one of his lovers ‘Cupcakes’, this Brooklyn based duo by way of Tel Aviv Israel & Melbourne Australia are the coalescence of rock without guitars and pop without synthesizers.

With their full luscious sound, breathtaking stage personas and the brutal honesty with which they play, Pedal board magician Hank commands an army of pedals with his bass guitar while powerhouse vocalist/drummer Cupcakes dominates the drums standing up while belting out emotive and groove filled vocals, making it difficult to believe there are only two people on stage. Pinpointing down to a certain genre of music is hard with this duo.

With a recklessness reminiscent of Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, an early RHCP rawness,  a fun-punk Ting Tings vibe and a ‘The Kills’ raw rock sex appeal, Hank & Cupcakes are the embodiment of all of those, creating a new hybrid of music motivated by true freedom and boundless limits.

Hailed by MTV as a “Fresh new artist with an infectious blend of electro pop goodness” by Paste Magazine as “Irresistibly Danceable” and as having a “Funky Fresh Sound” by the New York Post, the powerful duo broke away from the music industry and a BMG label contract just over a year ago in order to be free of artistic manipulation and corporate BS.

Becoming a truly independent band, Hank & Cupcakes recorded, produced & mixed their second studio album ‘CA$H 4 GOLD’ on their own and are now honing their explosive live performances in front of audiences as they tour the country.

    Pop Rock

It is the risk-takers and the history makers who see the potential in chasing a single spark into darkness. Within a single spark lies the possibility of blazing heat and light. Nashville-based pop rockers Stereosparks are in full pursuit of that spark and are poised to burn bright with their debut EP, The Secret EP.

“Secret (Say You'll Stay)”, the EP's first single and music video, opens with a five-part harmony confession, reminiscent of Imogen Heap's “Hide and Seek”. Singer Storey Condos' beautifully vulnerable voice declares, “I've got a little secret in my pocket” and the confession of the century is underway. Condos describes the premise of “Secret” as “This feeling that you have, or this something that you've done that you don't want other people to see and you're afraid of what they'll do if they do.”

Slowly, the “Secret” veil begins to lift, with boiling, synthesized lap steel guitar, eery toy piano, and haunting guitar arpeggios contributing to the conversation's tension. “It's dark, but it's powerful and it's beautiful”, Condos says. Soon, a kick drum cannon and symphony, complete with epic string section and roaring timpani, transport us to the song's crescendo, where a fully exposed Condos pleadingly concedes, “I've made a mess/ I'm on the ledge/ Are you gonna push me over the edge? Say you'll stay...”

Produced by 2-time GRAMMY winner Chad Carlson, The Secret EP is a three song illustration of the band's one-of-a-kind artistry, dimension, and pop sensibilities. By embracing the beauty and honesty of darkness and light, Stereosparks is a band that anyone can identify with. On one hand, the anthemic “Let it Burn” celebrates the freedom and power of letting go and living in the moment: “And when the walls that surround us/ Crumble down all around us/ Tonight, tonight, tonight/ We'll let it burn”. “Break You”, however, juxtaposes a lullaby-esque melody with thunderous percussion—craftily imitating the track's theme of one's sadistic addiction to destroying her lover.

On stage, the band's live show bursts with an energy and passion that breathes fresh life into each night's performance. Lead singer Storey Condos gives all of herself with grittily beautiful melodies and magnetizing eyes—the combination of which mesmerizes audiences to the point of near-hypnotism. While sweat soars from Ryan Maker's hair as he excitedly hammers the keys, Marc Anderson furiously beats his lap steel guitar to within inches of its life. Combined, the three present a live performance and chemistry that seems to have been born for major arenas and larger than life stages.

Stereosparks is the result of three lifetimes of experiences which have led to the band's fundamental belief that light comes from within. They are no strangers to the harsh, yet rewarding artist-lifestyle. The band has been chasing sparks for a lifetime and has no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Condos, with her beautiful blue eyes set to a laser focus, declares with conviction: “We are going to keep chasing, no matter what. We will chase that light. It just might start a fire...”

    The Trinity Schill Kill

The top is down on your convertible and it’s well past 1am but the lights still burn the empty streets of this neo-metropolis. You’re driving 70 and every signal goes from yellow to red just as you pass beneath. They will be already dancing when you arrive. You’re ready to dance. The radio in your car turns itself on...

It’s disco bass chopped into tidy, white lines on a mirror of glacial synth washes, surrounded by fragments of crunchy drum machines, sexy-time guitars and 8-bit urgency. The vocals are persuasive - compelling you to say goodbye, move on, come back, love, surrender and dance. None of that is the problem. The problem is you’re certain someone would have told you if Prince made an album with Daft Punk and you’re pretty sure you haven’t entered a parallel universe where Michael Jackson was the singer of Suicide. (Wait… Who turned on the radio?) So, the problem is: who could have made this dirty and majestic music? And, ultimately, it isn’t a problem at all. It's The Trinity Schill Kill.
