GWAR - The Return of GOR GOR

  • GWAR

    GWAR

    Heavy Metal

The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this barren and hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world… their story begins in the deepest reaches of outer space. Long ago, the beings who would become the rock band GWAR were part of an elite fighting force, the Scumdogs of the Universe. For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic fuck-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool’s errand to conquer an insignificant shitball floating in a dark corner of the universe; the planet Earth. Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all of human history. Aliens to some, gods and demons to others, our erstwhile Scumdogs fucked apes to create the human race, and this fateful unplanned pregnancy would prove to be truly disastrous!
  • Helmet

    Helmet

    Alternative Metal

Helmet is an American alternative rock band from New York City formed in 1989 by vocalist and lead guitarist Page Hamilton. Since 2010, the band has consisted of Hamilton, drummer Kyle Stevenson, guitarist Dan Beeman and bassist Dave Case. Helmet has released eight studio albums and two compilation albums. After releasing their debut album, Strap It On (1990), on Amphetamine Reptile, Helmet signed to Interscope Records and released three albums for the label, including the highly successful Meantime (1992), Betty (1994) and Aftertaste (1997). Helmet broke up in 1998, but reformed in 2004, and has since released four more albums ― Size Matters (2004), Monochrome (2006), Seeing Eye Dog (2010) and Dead to the World (2016). In June 2021 the band released via their website only a limited edition box set entitled “Move On” featuring 4 x 7” singles including the following covers and live tracks:
Move on (David Bowie) w/ More Bad News live Mercy (Wire) w/ Rollo live ETI (Blue Oyster Cult) w/ Blacktop live I’m only sleeping (The Beatles) w/ Crisis King live

2023 sees the band return to the studio for its ninth album Left to be released by earMusic in November 2023.

  • The Dwarves

    The Dwarves

    Punk

The DWARVES scour the vault and unearth never before heard recordings from 1989 that capture the pre- Grunge era in all of its dope soaked splendor. The result is all SUNSHINE, LOLLIPOPS & RAINBOWS. Adding a wealth of rare MICHAEL LAVINE photos from the Blood, Guts & Pussy photo shoot, along with live photos from CHARLES PETERSON, the ultimate picture disc package is created. Released on RECORD STORE DAY, the record goes on to save the retail music industry and turn the Dwarves into household names once again. New faces like MIKE PYGMIE and GINGER join the band onstage, but the sins remain the same. BLAG launches yet another podcast, this one discussing SONGS & LYRICS with notable guests from the correctional system.
  • Blood Vulture

    Blood Vulture

    Goth Metal

Deep in the heart of a dark, mythical land (New York) in a bygone era (2025), BLOOD VULTURE has awakened ominous, morose tales of mortality, grief, madness and obsession. The self-described “Gothic sludge” project is the brainchild of Jordan Olds, who for nearly a decade has moonlighted as Gwarsenio Hall, host of Two Minutes to Late Night, the world’s only heavy metal talk show and a place for the New York-based comedian and his friends and idols to put satirical spins on iconic songs from the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Guns N’ Roses.

Those ambitions are bigger and more cinematic on Blood Vulture’s debut LP, DIE CLOSE(Pure Noise), delivered with the narrative flair of a horror anthology and the emotional punch of a deathbed confession. Melding the emotive vocal stylings of grunge’s golden era with death metal, goth rock, and doom metal, the album blends classic and modern vampiric influences like Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Near Dark and Let The Right One In to create a mangled world with symphonic seven-string guitar swells lurking down every dark musical corridor.
