Description
Gus Baldwin is a 25 year old singer/songwriter/ex-hippie/part-time punk hailing from Austin, TX. After a stint holding down drums for Dallas surf punk legends, Sealion, in high school, Baldwin went on to for the psych pop combo, Acid Carousel. He led that band for 6 years and 20-something releases before parting ways on Halloween night in 2021.
Since leaving Carousel, Gus has made a name for himself as a solo artist and with his band, The Sketch. Quickly releasing a string of titles on his own GetWithIt! Records imprint, including the EPs, "Thriller", "Live Bugs" and a slew of singles, Gus established himself firmly as the godson of Texas rock 'n' roll. Splitting his time as a frequent collaborator with The Black Angels, Baldwin also works with the likes of Christian Bland & The Revelators, as well as The UFO Club with Night Beats frontman, Danny Lee Blackwell.
Abby Jeanne & The Shadowband is a NYC based indie/garage soul band, birthed in 2024 as the latest project by frontwoman Abby Jeanne. Raised in Milwaukee by her theatrical parents by day and a degenerate rock and roll café by night, she was immersed in music, rebellion, and spectacle from the start. Shaped by her unconventional upbringing and years of being a solo artist, she eventually crafted the Shadowband Universe.
The sounds of The Shadowband drift between wailing, soulful vocals that are reminiscent of Etta James and the gritty cool of The Velvet Underground, wrapped in subtle odes to garage, surf, soul, and psychedelia. Abby Jeanne’s songwriting feels like stepping inside a bewitched jukebox—where heartbreak, mystery, and teenage dreams collide. Think Roy Orbison meets The Ramones, with swooning melodies tangled in fuzzy guitars, punk rock attitude, and undeniably catchy pop choruses. Also drawing influence from ’60s girl groups like The Ronettes and The Shangri-Las, the band masterfully balances serious storytelling with a playful, campy edge—inviting you into a cinematic world of vibrant, unfiltered energy.
Since debuting at The Troubadour London in March '24, The Shadowband have toured the UK with Say She She and shared bills with The Make-Up, Bush Tetras, The Mummies, Shannon & the Clams and The Nude Party.
