The Gully Boys origin story plays out like the perfect domino effect. While sorting vintage clothes in a Minneapolis-area thrift store in 2016, Kathy Callahan (she/her) shared her dream of becoming a vocalist with their co-worker, Nadirah McGill (they/them).After encouraging a friend from middle school, Natalie Klemond (she/her), to join the trio on bass, Nadi picked up a pair of drumsticks and counted off a cover of Best Coast’s “Girlfriend.” Gully Boys had officially been born. Having to master their instruments on the fly, the band's sound grew quickly - taking inspiration from 90's icons like No Doubt, Garbage, and Hole. After 2 years of relentless gigging, Gully Boys released a collection of demos, Not So Brave in 2018, earning Best New Band honors from their hometown City Pages and sharing the stage with everyone from The Hold Steady to Third Eye Blind. The band’s Phony EP arrived in late 2019 right as the live music industry came to a screeching halt. Inspired by this break in the action, the band started working with Zach Zurn at Carpet Booth Studio and added lead guitarist Mariah Mercedes. They released their first produced EP 'Favorite Son' (2021), followed by singles ‘See You See’ (2022) and ‘Optimist’ (2023). Throughout this aggressive release schedule, the band has continued gigging - appearing at official SXSW showcases and playing iconic stages across Minnesota including First Avenue’s main stage and across the nation, touring with artists Nova Twins, Motion City Soundtrack, Destroy Boys and Bad Bad Hats. With a recent trip to Audiotree, a debut LP in pre-production, Gully Boys have no plans to slow down.

Grumpy Plum was founded by front-person Tallulah Swasey in early 2019 after deciding to take her singer songwriter performances up a notch. In the early stages of writing, Tallulah performed some of the youngest Grumpy Plum songs as just an acoustic act. At one Mahall's performance, she met who would then be the first drummer and bassist of the band. Only 4 months after forming the trio had decided to record 4-track EP ‘Don’t Yell At Me’ at Superior Sound with Jim Wirt. Before the pandemic, Grumpy Plum began building their name around Cleveland by playing shows almost every week and eventually took their first mini-tour to Chicago and Detroit. As covid hit, shows ceased but thanks to Tiktok and Tallulah’s boredom during the shutdown, ‘Dollhouse’ quickly grew its streams into the millions as they reached cities and countries around the world.

bugsy wants to tell you that it’s okay to be alone. The Minneapolis quartet listens empathetically and reflects solitude into an emotional cacophony. Formed by vocalist/guitarist Emily Schoonover (they/them), lead guitarist Griffen Desai (he/him), bassist/vocalist Shannon Maroney (they/them), and drummer Al Norman (he/him), bugsy dove into the world with their debut EP teratoma in early 2020 and has yet to take a breath. Each new song illuminates their ferocious, personal take on fire-breathing DIY indie punk. bugsy has played shows around the country, supporting bands like Destroy Boys, Weatherday, and Skating Polly, filling venues like First Avenue (Minneapolis), the Metro, and Lincoln Hall (Chicago). Now I Spend All of My Time Alone, bugsy’s second EP, illuminates the dark corners of our hearts and coaxes us out of the shadows. It reintroduces the band as a powerful vessel for transition — six songs that make equal space for confession and silence. Lead single “recluse” paints its melodies with blood, acceptance unaccompanied by forgiveness.
