Formed in 2021, GroupChat is a 5-7 piece funk band, with members coming together through their love of music, college house parties, and longtime childhood friendships. GroupChat bends genres across, blending elements of funk, rock, and pop fusion. Having packed the rooms of many of the best Chicago venues, GroupChat proves to put on an energy-packed show.

Vocalist and songwriter YASMINE became one of the members of GroupChat, a Chicago-based funk fusion band, in 2022. YASMINE has penned some of GroupChat’s fan favorites, including "Heartstrings" and continues to share her songwriting and vocal chops in the spaces and sounds of R&B and Neo-Soul.  YASMINE parlayed her role as the lead singer of GroupChat into her solo career as an R&B and pop artist. Her training in the Bel Canto technique and influence from the likes of vocalists like Alicia Keys, Jazmine Sullivan, and SZA allow YASMINE to communicate a compelling message and create a unique sound that is spiked with style, passion, and soul. 

Born and raised in the West Suburbs of Chicago, Dahzi is a recording artist. Fusing the elements of R&B, Soul, and Rap, Dahzi manufactures a trance of melodic and rhythmic soundscapes. Growing up he was never a stranger to the stage performing poetry and dance from the age of 6. Inspired by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake, his lyrics are a myriad of schemes, metaphors, and concepts. His writing often conveys the emotions of a Black man trying to change his reality and that of those around him.

Ranika is a Chicago born singer-songwriter, producer, and audio engineer rooted in R&B. Originally a songwriter, Ranika infuses each of her songs with the personal touch of her pen and velvety vocals.
