GREEK - THE ACCELERATOR TOUR

Greek is an multi-hyphenate experimental indie artist who uses bedroom alternative soundscapes as a vehicle for introspection and storytelling. Born Michael Davie in Southwestern Virginia, Greek’s musical foundation spans from picking up the piano at the age of eight to the construction of “Studio B-RAD,” his own closet sound booth equipped with a blanket and a microphone. As a small-town teenager with the internet and digital audio tools at his fingertips, the now 22-year-old was “afforded the space to create freely” early on, honing in on the layered instrumentals and intimate songwriting that distinguish him today. After COVID-19 put the country in lockdown, Greek chose to bet on himself, take risks, and dedicate himself solely to music across eight focused months of what he describes as “musical incubation.” Drawing inspiration from pop and R&B subgenres and his personal relationships back home, Greek bravely expanded his roots to North Carolina in 2021. He tapped in with local artists Maasho, and Weston Estate before moving to Los Angeles to further chase his dreams soon after. Ending 2022 with his thematically dark debut EXTC, Greek brought the “acute, minute hardships of being a struggling musician” to the fore with nine recordings spanning across two years. Almost entirely self-produced, it amassed 15 Million Streams with standout singles “safety” (8M+ Streams), “rewind” (3M+ Streams), and “hmu” (3M Streams), and Greek sold out his first two headlining shows as a result. The album’s success earned Greek heavy-weight co-signs from Elton John and Joe Budden, features in several of Spotify’s Class of 2022 playlists and in Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Show, helped sell out his first two headlining shows, and led to him to produce for others (SoFaygo, Weston Estate). Greek’s sophomore album ACCELERATOR—a brighter “out West expansion pack” for EXTC—is due ahead of his first set at SXSW 2024 and offers an intimate look into his artistic maturation: “On the heels of some of the first real successes of my career, these songs exude confidence, and represent me coming into a new mindset in making music.”

Alé Araya, the 24-year old Chilean-American artist, producer, and songwriter has quickly cemented herself as a force across the global music scene. Off the back of her self-produced EPs in visions & INTUITION (released via Rostrum Records), the multi-hyphenate has spent the past few years writing and producing with esteemed upcoming artists including Greek, Riovaz, Joseph Chilliams, & Lexa Gates who Alé recently collaborated with on Lexa’s single “Lately Nothing.” While already receiving early co-signs from Raveena, UMI, & Monte Booker to name a few, Alé is also part of the buzzing POC-led artist community KOGO, alongside prolific originals like REHMA, CONNIE, Curtis Waters, KOAD, and others. Additionally, she creative-directs all her visuals, designs all of her own clothing, leads all choreography, and is heavily involved in the graphic design process throughout her various projects.
Classically trained in jazz and well-versed in digital composition, Alé began playing the piano at the age of 5, a gift passed down to her by her creative parents. The daughter of a Chilean immigrant born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, Alé poured herself into music as a way to escape a tumultuous upbringing, quickly learning to play multiple instruments through years of playing in various jazz bands. She began writing songs in her early teens and taught herself how to produce via YouTube while exploring her own artistic identity. Simultaneously, she found a deep love for dance that proved to be therapeutic and it remains at the core of her art. Largely inspired by women queer-identifying artists like Erykah Badu and Rochelle Jordan, Alé’s art beautifully envelopes and dissects deeply personal narratives about Latinx identity, womanhood, mental health, sexuality and beyond.
