    Glass Frames

    Alternative Rock

Glass Frames first crystallized on a misty autumn evening in 2014. Founding members Joey Lyon and Ian Curtiss became fast friends at Seattle Pacific University and met Stephen Hertogs and Travis Corwin in a series of beautifully eerie coincidences over the following years. The quartet has opened a sold-out show for the Classic Crime, released two singles, and their debut self-titled album is available now. Among Glass Frames' many goals is to create a cathartic, spiritually triumphant experience for their audience in both live and recorded settings, collaborate once again with Velocity dance center, and overall to create musical art that is timeless, and contribute something positive to the global community. The band is currently writing and recording Madrugada, their debut full-length album, which will be expansive and experimental, but rooted in raw, organic sounds and real performance, not electronic production. The title of the album is from the Spanish for midnight, though it can also mean the moment before daybreak. The dark sounds of Glass Frames always leave room for hope. Weaving together modern sounds like Dredg with enduring 90s artists like Smashing Pumpkins, Ride, and Slowdive, Glass Frames creates a result that is huge, rhythmically complex, and invigorating.

    Alternative Rock

Danny and John met in Palmdale, Ca around 2004. Having similar taste in music, both were interested in forming a band. Eventually, a mutual friend took it upon herself to put them in the same room, and there they formed their first band "AmpleFire".

In 2005, AmpleFire moved to Austin, Tx. Although, they had some success, the band disbanded 4 years later.

Taking a break from music, Danny moved back to Palmdale, Ca, while John stayed to pursue school. 2 years later Danny moved to Seattle and invited John to visit. Unhappy with school, John decided to take the open invitation and visited in hopes of forming a new band with Danny. John fell in love with Seattle immediately. Before heading back home to Austin, he asked Danny if he was interested in forming a new band. After a few weeks of thinking it over, Danny decided to give music another shot, and “ALKI” was formed.

For almost a year, they played open mics and bars while also looking for a drummer. In came Josh. Coincidently, he had a similar disbanding bring him to Seattle. After years of touring with "The Perfect Pill," in his home country of Lithuania, Josh moved to Seattle for a fresh start. Keeping busy, he played with several bands in search of a good fit. He later found ALKI in a craigslist add. One jam session later, and ALKI had a new drummer.

With a mixture of airy guitars, smooth synths, and bombastic drums, their sound has been said to be a mixture of Coldplay and the Police.
