EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Join us Sunday, March 29 at 3rd & Lindsley for the Girls Write Nashville Annual Benefit Concert, presented as part of Lightning 100’s Sunday Night series.
This annual celebration of restorative, transformative music communities features a headline performance by Ashe and a special opening set from graduating senior artists of Girls Write Nashville — a music space like no other in Nashville where the stage is intentionally shared with Nashville's next generation of young artists.
The show will be broadcast live on Lightning 100 and livestreamed on Volume.com, extending the room far beyond the venue.
100% of proceeds support our free, trauma-informed songwriting and music production programs serving students in Title I Metro Nashville Public Schools. Your ticket gives a student a seat in our weekly songwriting circle programs, where she shares lyrics about her anxiety, 12 other girls snap in recognition, and she realizes she's not alone.
Come be a part of our community that uplifts young women in Nashville — join us March 29.
Girls Write Nashville empowers expression through songwriting, production, mentorship and creative community for teen artists. We are an artist- and educator-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit creative youth development program in Nashville, TN allied with community schools to create safe and trauma-informed creative communities and opportunities for cultural participation for youth artists.
Founded in 2016 originally as a one-time community project, we continued as a nonprofit after our initial 9 program participants requested the program continue! Fast forward to present day — they're in their first year of college and Girls Write Nashville serves almost students annually with over 6,000 hours of programming! We've been featured in NPR's Here & Now, named Best Teen Programming by the Nashville Scene, and awarded a semi-finalist prize for The Lewis Prize for Music.
