Without doubt the biggest electronic party in New York city is Girls and Boys - the 2000+ people party that features some of the biggest and most cutting edge names in dance music such as MSTRKRFT, Justice, deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, Vitalic, A-Trak, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Rusko, Neon Indian and many, many more. Every Friday for well over a year, the Grand Ballroom at Webster Hall has been transformed into a packed room of electro kids, hands in the air in appreciation of the throbbing distorted bass and electronic beats that have altered the landscape of dance music in America over the last few years.

    Claptone

    Dance/Electronic

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone.

Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that today his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world.

    Sleepy & Boo

    Dance

Sleepy & Boo play electronic music of all shapes and sizes, rocking rooms big and small across New York City and beyond. They love thick drums, big basslines, hypnotic grooves and tripped-out sci-fi synthesizers, and know how to put it all together. Forget sticking to just one genre — as DJs, they are known for their diversity and their knack for picking tracks from across the musical spectrum. Whether taking the crowd on a twisted late night excursion, or pushing peak-hour mayhem, Sleepy & Boo never fail to turn a dancefloor inside out.

From their home base in New York, Sleepy & Boo have become preeminent players in the Big Apple’s dynamic underground music scene. For close to nine years, they’ve been the resident DJs and driving force behind Basic NYC, their events and production organization. Launched in 2004, the party features Sleepy & Boo playing alongside a who’s who of the world’s most important DJs, all performing to a packed house of energetic music lovers. It’s an event that’s recognized for its diversity, with partygoers treated to a huge range of talent and sounds (everyone from deep house veterans to the newest names in techno have been guests over the years). Named as New York’s “Best Dance Party 2009” by New York Magazine, Basic NYC has become an international destination for clubbers eager to catch world-class DJs in intimate spaces, taking place at some of New York's finest venues. But it's not just about out-of-town guests - for over two and a half years, Sleepy & Boo headlined their own monthly Sleepy & Boo + Friends residency at the world renowned Cielo, which featured them playing extended headlining sets alongside friends and guests from New York. And in the Fall of 2012, Basic NYC staged a series of underground loft parties that featured an array of techno and tech-house DJs playing well into the morning, creating an infectious old-school warehouse vibe with top-notch production - crystal clear sound, visuals and decor.

In 2013, Sleepy & Boo began a new partnership with the revamped Marquee New York, joining the club as Friday resident DJs and programming the talent for the night. They have added a new dimension to the club by bringing in some of the world's best underground DJs, welcoming a huge array of veteran and newcomers alike to the club's Funktion One-equipped DJ booth. Their Friday night event has already hosted a jaw-dropping lineup of DJs, who have all raved about the club's pristine sound system, lights and visual design, and the club's close and powerful connection with the energetic crowd.

Apart from their own events, the duo is consistently DJing at the best parties and venues in New York, and work regularly with the city’s most important event organizers. They’ve played at three installments of Made Event’s renowed Electric Zoo Festival; the inaugural Electric Daisy Carnival New York, the Dance.Here.Now. festival at Governor’s Island; performed at some of LiveNations’ massive Roseland events, and have rocked dancefloors around the world in England, Germany, Canada, Japan and Spain (including sets at Ibiza’s legendary Space, Amnesia and Pacha clubs). Regional dates include DC’s U Street Music Hall, Atlantic City's Chelsea Hotel, Monteeal’s Velvet speakeasy, Philadelphia’s Rumor nightclub and Connecticut’s Room 960. Sleepy & Boo are also regular fixtures at the annual Miami Winter Music Conference and Ultra events, where they have presented their own daytime outdoor events, and spoken as panelists at the 2011 conference itself. They've also been nominated three consecutive times for the prestigious DJ TImes America's Best DJ poll.

Sleepy & Boo have worked tirelessly to bring quality, cutting-edge dance music to New York’s clubbers, both through their own music, and the events they organize. Their passion for electronic music and culture permeates every project they take on and every set they play, and they will always be aligned with great artists, great music, and expanding the minds of their fans and followers.

Since he keeps such good musical company, it’s no surprise that he’s also quite the DJ, rocking dance floors with his seamless mixing skills.
