Hailing from our northern neighbors of Milwaukee, GGOOLLDD debuts here at the Bottle this evening. Between wispy melodies and a lethargic atmosphere that builds to a gracious sway, there's a little something for everyone in GGOOLLDD's sound. GGOOLLDD isn’t like other bands. They formed on whim, decided to play their first show mostly as an excuse to host a killer party, and they eschew the traditional gotta-get-a-record-deal game in favor of playing a lot of shows and releasing their own material. That sense of whimsy blended with resolute autonomy is all part of the signature GGOOLLDD aesthetic. Secrets, their new album, is a soaring collection of bangers that conjures wind-in-your-hair glittery romanticism.

YOKO AND THE OH NOS are a local trio that brilliantly blend garage rock with Motown style soul. Their mixture of emotive vocals with bluesy “garage” riffs is one of the best combos since Reese joined PB and chocolate. YOKO & THE OH NO’S recently went on tour with like-minded rock & roll weirdos THE GROWLERS, blowing minds and connecting with crowds across the Midwest.

THE GOLD WEB's brand of upbeat electronic-glam-rock will have you shaking that booty to noises & grooves you never knew existed. Check out their latest album, Natural Born Mystic, and get ready to get down, y'all.

    Yoko and The Oh No's

    Alternative Rock

Yoko and the Oh No's began as a trio of young Chicagoans with a revved-up retro rock sound that blends spiky garage and vintage soul. Singer Max Goldstein, guitarist Max Loebman, and drummer Stef Roti all played together in an earlier incarnation before regrouping as the Oh No's to record their self-released, self-titled debut in early 2013. At 16, Max L. recorded and produced the record in his childhood basement. With Goldstein as their charismatic frontman, the band's energetic live shows and well-crafted record led to a deal with Autumn Tone Records, which reissued their debut in 2015.

    The Gold Web

    Dance Pop

The Gold Web is Chicago’s art-glam monstrosity. Known for their highly theatrical stage shows, the group doses audiences with blissful grooves, dramatic songwriting, and an outrageous visual performance.

Brandishing 6-foot wings, glitter, feathers, and face paint, The Gold Web look like they flew out of David Lynch’s dream, or Lady Gaga’s nightmare. Musically things are a little clearer– and even more irresistible; the group’s self-titled debut album traffics a charismatic brand of forward thinking indie-pop marked by surreal synths, rump shaking beats, and futuristic guitar wizardry.

Assembled out of a lineage of Chicago bands and visual artists, members of The Gold Web cut their teeth touring with acts like KISS and Smashing Pumpkins, while other members curated notable galleries and pushed the boundaries of performance art communities. The result is a dreamy freak world which raises more questions than it answers. Where are we going? Will we be safe once we get there? Will we ever want to leave?
