Gary Dacanay is a journeyman guitarist who has played in wedding bands, fronted his own blues rock band, and has done recording sessions with Hip Hop and R&B artists. He recently embarked on a solo journey singing his own arrangements of Jazz standards and songs from the Great American songbook after several of his guitar students brought in torch songs, which he would sing on the fly and developed a passion for. He adopted and expanded the tunes into his own repertoire and performances. Gary will be joined by his long time band mate from Special Blend, Chris Mezzolesta, on upright bass. Chris has recently been subbing for the Skatch Anderssen Orchestra, and performing with and producing audio for the Akron based progressive jazz fusion group Brain and the Glasses.
