Gaetano (Tom) is a multi-genre jazz guitarist based in Ohio with forty years’ experience performing and teaching. With 13 CD/vinyls and enthusiastic reviews in national publications, he is an active composer with 100 copyrighted works to his credit. Downbeat said Tom has “a knack for composition”. Guitar Player Magazine described him as a “powerful player”.

Completing a six-year study of The Schillinger System of Composition with Bert Henry, Tom was also a classical guitar major at Baldwin-Wallace. Jazz studies include private lessons with Richie Hart (Berklee College), Pat Martino, George Benson and Wolf Marshall along with live performances with Mike Clark (Herebie Hancock), Joe Beck, Mundell Lowe and Matt Guitar Murphy in Los Angeles. Tom has performed at Severance Hall, Brown’s Stadium, MOCA, BOCA, The Bop Stop, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Nighttown along with clubs and festivals nationally. The performances go from trio to quintet depending on the event.

Just recently completing the recordings of “Chartreuse”, his new jazz suite of works released in 2021 and “Orange Sunset” a jazz trio version of the same suite 2022. Tom’s compositions are multi-genre jazz, combining numerous styles of jazz, blues, funk and more, making it easy for both casual listeners and serious music afficionados to enjoy. “All of this music comes from the heart and is quite different from what commercial music offerings” says Tom.

Tom’s new blues album, “Black Sheep of the Family” was released on December 16th, 2023, featuring 15 modern blues fusion tunes written in the pandemic shut down, with fun, emotional pictures of the pandemic’s effect on us all.
