Description
FUDGE There’s something in Wilmington’s water supply and it’s not just the forever chemicals. Self-belief, optimism, and a desire for individuality all trickle into the music of coastal North Carolina indie rock band Fudge. Influenced by the anthemic bands of the past, the group hits the sweet spot of unfamiliar and uncharted territory with music that sounds fresh, but simultaneously feels like it was always there. If they didn’t write “Hanging On” someone else would’ve, but it certainly wouldn’t sound this sweet. In a world flooded with fake generated noise, nolo exists to create a break in the mirage with a cinematic, multi- genre rock concept, that constrasts raw energy and power with genuine tenderness. Formed in Austin, TX in 2018, the band consists of Ritchie Wall (bass & vocals), Brett Mayers (guitar & vocals), Jonathan Crayne (guitar & vocals), Nathaniel Earl (keys, guitar & vocals), and Jay Amato (drums); drawing from a wide range of inspirations ranging from modern-emo to film score and R&B, their unique mix of influences has intertwined into a music project that often feels more like a fated brotherhood. Their shows are symbiotic experiences that transport listeners, opening sonic portals where light meets dark, joy juxtaposes heaviness, and the absurd collides with the solemn. Set to release a new album this fall, nolo is set to give rise to a sound that eludes categorization while being honest and real. Regionally, nolo has already made a name for themselves with their unique modern-emo brand of alternative rock. Heading into the future, these artists are more excited than ever to share their new creations that offer richly contrasted styles and a plentitude of musical moments that showcase this seasoned group of players and songwriters.
