Daisychain produces a sound that is a seamless series of contradictions: sultry yet soulful, fierce garage-rock produced by the voices of two queenly frontwomen, and catchy songs rooted in classic 1970s rock just trippy enough to please the ears of 21st century listeners. Hallmarked by smoky female harmonies, extensive guitar solos, and a seriously dynamic rhythmic section, Daisychain would fit right in on the “Almost Famous” soundtrack with a retro throwback soundthat is best when listened to with a hazy head and happy heart. In the same vein as The Who, Velvet Underground, Patti Smith, and The Mamas & The Papas, the retro throwback sound is reminiscent of times when music was made by the purest of talent and intentions. “We are closer than ever, because we have experienced so much together,” explains guitarist and vocalist Sophia Williams. “We’re documenting the good, bad, and ugly in this thing we call life.”
