Sonic Blossoms are a Los Angeles-based heavy psych / space rock band operating deep in the underground. Their sound is raw, hypnotic, and immersive — built on layers of fuzz-driven guitars, distorted atmospherics, and rhythms that lock into a groove and refuse to let go. This is music designed to overwhelm, to pull you under and hold you there until the last note decays into silence.
Drawing from the lineage of Spacemen 3, The Stooges, Red Crayola, and the rawest edges of 60s garage psych, Sonic Blossoms filter these influences through a modern lens of volume and weight. The result is something that feels both ancient and immediate — songs that could have been carved from feedback and static on some lost basement tape, yet hit with the force of something entirely new.
Their debut self-titled album, released September 2025 on Slouch Records, captures the band at their most focused and ferocious. Recorded with an emphasis on live energy and minimal studio polish, the album is a document of a band locked in a room together, channeling something heavy and cosmic through their instruments. Every track pulses with the tension between control and chaos — structured songs that threaten to collapse into noise at any moment, held together by sheer force of will and the hypnotic power of repetition.
Live, Sonic Blossoms are an intense and immersive experience. The songs expand beyond their recorded forms, building walls of sound that fill every corner of the room. Dark stages, heavy volume, and an atmosphere that feels slightly dangerous — this is not a band that plays it safe. Their shows are events, the kind of performances that leave your ears ringing and your perception slightly altered.
Sonic Blossoms aren't chasing trends or courting mainstream attention. They exist in the underground because that's where this kind of music lives — uncompromising, heavy, and real. The debut album is just the beginning. The signal is getting stronger, the frequencies are getting heavier, and the blossoms are opening into something vast and consuming.

Mercury Transfer is the recording project of Ryan Smith, former drummer for the California post-hardcore/emo trio Foreseers. Exploring varying sonic avenues such as shoegaze, ambient, post-rock and noise rock, Mercury Transfer emerged as quarantine recording project in 2021 with their first release, In This Heat, We Grow Weary. Then, in March of 2022, Mercury Transfer released their second LP, Martha, incorporating interview segments Ryan conducted with his paternal grandmother, crafting songs around clips of her voice intermingled with his own. His most recent release is Where Light Never Goes, a collaborative EP with vocalist Nick Chism, combining the ambient shoegaze sounds of Mercury with Nick's brutal screaming vocals. Last Day Deaf called WLNG's first single, Bones, "... a hymn of desolation" and "a hollow, unholy descent into a chasm of thoughts and emotions."
