The fourth Annual Broadway and Ballet HERO Awards will feature 16 stunning performances from stars of the Broadway and Ballet worlds, performing together on one stage. This year we will be honoring:
The Ballet HERO Award, which acknowledges the work of ABT principal and international ballet star James Whiteside.
The Broadway HERO Award will be awarded to Broadway star and legend, Rachelle Rak.
The John Adams HERO award will be awarded to Michael Campayno, star of "Wicked" for Best Broadway Debut 2016 to 2017.
The Partnership HERO award, which goes to the JED Foundation for providing teens and young adults with the skills and support needed to grow into healthy striving adults.
Performers in the 2017 show include Olympic Gold Medalist in Gymnastics Icarus-Ioannis Melissanidis as well as performers from the Broadway casts of "Chicago", "A Bronx Tale", "An American in Paris", "Anastasia", "Jersey Boys", "Aladdin", "Frozen", "Wicked" and "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" as well as leading dancers from ballet companies including the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), the New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet West, and Pace University. Broadway and Ballet will also include performances from awardees, James Whiteside, Rachelle Rak and Michael Campayno. A special performance from The Boy Band Project will also be presented.
The 2017 4th Annual Broadway and Ballet HERO Awards will be presented by HIV HERO in association with Stage 48 on October 16th at Stage 48! This spectacular event will feature 15 original performances and a cast of over 30 stars from the worlds of Broadway and Ballet, all performing together on one stage! The event will honor Broadway Legend, Rachelle Rak, ABT Principal and International Ballet Star, James Whiteside, Michael Campayno of Broadway’s Wicked, and JED. HERO is a 100% volunteer organization; every dollar raised goes to helping stop spread HIV and help those who are affected.
