Kafou film screening followed with Q&A with writer/producer of the film, Gilbert Mirambeau Jr. |
The thriller-comedy Kafou, inspired by the work of Quentin Tarantino, was shot entirely in Port-au-Prince and involves an all-Haitian cast and crew, including actors Jasmuel Andri, Rolaphton Mercure, Manfred Marcelin, Rolando Étienne, and Marcus Boereau.
In Kafou, when Doc and Zoe are hired to deliver an inconspicuous package, the job comes with three foreboding rules: never stop the car, never roll down the windows, and never open the trunk. A dog in the street changes the course of the night. Since every crossroad in Haiti requires a sacrifice, the carriers’ next move will affect their path – irremediably.
