It’s only natural for an artist to push back against predictability, consciously honing their craft in the measured steps of creative evolution. But after an acclaimed early career of atmospheric Americana, singer-songwriter Lilly Winwood went much further than that with her new single, ‘What’ve We Got To Lose’.Winwood has embraced a bold, new creative direction, moving away from her earlier, introspective style and immersing herself in the vibrant, rhythmic soundscapes of the 1970’s. Influenced by icons like Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, and the Allman Brothers, Winwood’s music reflects her desire to break free from personal and musical constraints. She finds inspiration in the collaborative process, working with songwriters such as Aaron Wagner & JT Nero to push her boundaries and explore a liberated, groove-driven sound. Her new music focuses on themes of joy, self-discovery, and the power of staying true to oneself, echoing the revolutionary spirit of ‘70s music.

Winwood’s newest single, “What Have We Got to Lose,” embodies her own evolution, blending romantic, slow-burning R&B with sensual, expressive vocals. With producer Dan Knobler at the helm, the song merges soul with thoughtful lyricism. Winwood describes the song as a “cinematic daydream,” capturing the essence of vulnerability and openness. The track encourages listeners to take risks and embrace the unknown, reflecting her belief in the value of stepping out of comfort zones to unlock hidden potential. With its smooth, soulful sound, “What Have We Got to Lose” encapsulates Winwood's message of possibility and the beauty of surrendering to new experiences

When something is in your blood, it’s easy to take for granted. But if the last few years have taught Lilly Winwood anything, it’s that nothing is set in stone. Mixing salt-of-the-earth songwriting with a graceful splash of old-world sophistication, the Americana songstress reached a long-sought milestone with her 2021 album debut, Time Well Spent.

The daughter of Grammy winning British rocker Steve Winwood (Traffic, Spencer Davis Group), Lilly grew up splitting time between the U.K. and Nashville’s neon-lit streets. Back then music was ever present, she says, and whether performing with her older brother, writing teenaged odes to young love or just soaking in her father’s work, it gave Winwood a unique creative perspective – one that felt more in line with Nashville than London.

Moving to Music City for good at 18, Winwood soon gravitated to the alternative-minded enclave of East Nashville, and after forming creative partnerships with locals like Boo Ray and Don Gallardo, released her Silver Stage EP in 2017. Time Well Spent followed in 2021, backed by East Nashville household names Alex Munoz and Allen Thompson, earning accolades from tastemakers like Rolling Stone Country as she solidified a go-your-own-way sense of earthy pop.

Winwood mixes a steady throb of up-all-night angst with a gentle country-rock vibe of dreamy clarity in her latest release “Sleep Issues.” Penned over long sleepless nights, with clear eyes and a willingness to ask tough questions, Winwood simply wrote her story and brought it to her band at Nashville’s Trace Horse studio – no producer needed. Describing it like “painting with sound,” Winwood spent hours alone with just a guitar and a pen beforehand, getting to know herself and the world she’d kept at arm’s length during the pandemic. No longer trying to impress anyone, this track features the weary sense of freedom that comes with letting down one’s guard – and the title itself speaks to that freedom

After nearly a decade spent with the Gramblers, and recent high-profile collaborations (Phil Lesh, Infamous String Dusters, Ryan Adams), and a split from her husband and musical mentor, vocalist and songwriter Nicki Bluhm is stepping out on her own with her new album, TO RISE YOU GOTTA FALL. The songs were written over a two-year period in Bluhm’s life and chronicle her fundamental life changes, which found the West Coast native living in Nashville, TN. “These songs are the conversations I never got to have, the words I never had the chance to say, and the catharsis I wouldn’t have survived without,” she says. Recorded in Memphis, TN at legendary Sam Phillips Recording, Bluhm brought in producer Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price, Jason Isbell), for these live band, analog sessions. The studio band includes Will Sexton (guitar), Ross-Spang (guitars), Ken Coomer (drums and percussion), Al Gamble (Hammond B3), Rick Steff (piano), Dave Smith (bass), with Sam Shoup (string arrangements) and various special guests.  TO RISE YOU GOTTA FALL tells the story of a woman searching for light among darkness and reveals her emergence as a powerful songwriter and vocalist of great depth and immediacy.

David Ryan Harris. "Sounds like a law firm, tastes like analog tape,” says the soul singer/songwriter and guitarist. "I heard music, melodies and stories in my head as a child. It never went away and I hope it never does,” he says.

Born in Chicago and raised in Atlanta, David was drawn to the blues after hearing songs by Son House, Robert Johnson and others. Growing up at a time when Prince, Parliament-Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder and other musicians were stretching the boundaries of popular music, he began to understand that music could not and should not be limited by our often narrow views of what it should be.

In 1991, David co-founded Follow For Now, a band that combined all of the influences that had been shaping his musical vision: Bad Brains meets Stevie Wonder and Public Enemy in Memphis. While the band had a short life, it was David’s launching pad, as it allowed him to taste the fruits of such a strange mess of musical ingredients. He signed to Columbia Records in 1997, released a self-titled record and began to spread his wings as an artist, writer and producer. In 2000, he signed to Elektra with the band Brand New Immortals. Shortly after releasing an album, the label folded and the band followed suit.

Today, David Ryan Harris calls Los Angeles home, but is internationally recognized for playing guitar and singing in John Mayer’s band from 2004-2012. He has also had the pleasure of writing with, playing with and/or producing artists from Dave Matthews, Cassandra Wilson, Derek Trucks, Santana, Marc Broussard, and Guy Sebastian. Most recently, he produced and co-wrote six songs on Indie.Arie's album, Songversation.

Since his major label days, David has independently released many singles and solo albums, including the wildly popular 2007 LP, The Bittersweet. On October 23, 2015, he released his fourth full-length album, Lightyears, which includes co-writes with Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Tyler Lyle and Joe Gil among others. The LP also features guest appearances by John Mayer, Indie.Arie and Nikka Costa. "Lightyears is me sending up a flare into the darkness from where I live,” says David. It’s a soulful look into my life. My past and how it informs my present. My sense of hope, my sense of humor.”
