Eugenie Jones, an acclaimed American jazz singer-songwriter and producer, captivates audiences with her warmth and magnetic stage presence. Critics praise her as a radiant entertainer, while Paris Move magazine hails her as “one of the most beautiful voices in the United States,” crediting her as part of the “lineage of jazz vocalists who dazzle with sheer talent, elevating everything they touch.”

With an MBA and a prolific career in nonprofit marketing communications, her singing career began after the death of her mother in 2008. “Beyond my grief, I felt a void that I later recognized as missing the sound of my mother singing. Seeking solace and a positive way forward, I wondered if I could carry on that part of her.” That speculation led Jones to the Seattle jazz scene and ultimately to a career in music.

In the years that followed, Jones released six albums that soared up the charts. Her latest release, EUGENIE, held a spot in JazzWeek’s Top 50 for 25 weeks, peaking at #4. A two-time winner of the Earshot Jazz Vocalist of the Year award, she also made history when her album Black Lace Blue Tears became the first vocal release to win Earshot’s Recording of the Year award. Beyond the stage, her dedication to blending live jazz with community service earned her the Jazz Journalists Association’s Jazz Hero Award.

With songwriting skills favorably compared to Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone, she has released more than 30 original jazz tunes. All About Jazz contributor C. Michael Bailey noted, “her vocals have few peers, and her songwriting is beautifully grown up and real.” Previous performances have included Dazzle Jazz Club (Denver), the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the San Jose Jazz Festival, Jazz Forum (NY), Earshot Jazz Festival (Seattle), Scat Jazz Lounge (Ft. Worth), Pangea Supper Club (NY), The Blue Llama (Ann Arbor), Minton’s Playhouse (NY), and many others.

“This is an extraordinary singer, songwriter, and a source of light we are fortunate to experience,” states former John Coltrane bassist and NEA Jazz Master Reggie Workman.
