Ethan Buckner, David Redd
-
There was that time he was detained by the Egyptian military, accused of being an American spy. Or the time he repelled off a massive highway bridge protesting big oil. Or the time he chained himself to the Oakland police department headquarters after yet another unarmed Black man was shot by cops. Harrowing true story after story, LA indie folk/pop troubadour and activist Ethan Buckner has seen it all. Through trauma and triumph, anxiety and hope, Ethan has always turned to songwriting to try and make sense of it. His forthcoming debut LP Treading Water, produced by grammy nominee Justin Glasco (Paris Paloma, The Lone Bellow), weaves between moments both intimate and anthemic, exploring struggles that are both deeply personal and unavoidably collective.

David Redd is a New York bred, LA-based singer, songwriter, and band leader recreating what rock & roll really means. A music born from blending sounds and genres, rock never died, it just got boring. But back in David’s hands, it blends folk, soul, indie, r&b and all the new music that’s come along in the last 50 years.
Drawing inspiration from songwriting greats like Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and Bruce Springsteen, David brings a poet’s ear and a writer’s precision, delivering keen observations on life and society with a wry sense of humor and just a touch of optimism — rare traits these days when cynicism feels like the easiest path.
Back in the studio with Grammy Nominated Producer Justin Glasco (Paris Paloma, The Lone Bellow) as well as his all star band of LA session players — cats with touring credits like Clairo, Vulfpeck, and Grace Potter — David will release his sophomore album, “Love is Everything & It Will Not Save You,” later this year.
