With La Pena Orchestra’s fourth ever concert since its formation in 2018 comes a tribute to the great dance bands of Latin America, from Colombia’s Lucho Bermudez, to Cuba’s Beny Moré, to La Sonora Santanera in Mexico, to the Fania boom in New York City. La Pena boasts 20+ performers and prides itself on its detailed orchestrations, either transcribed or originated by musical director Patrick Donley. This is a one-of-a kind show by an up-and-coming local outfit who started right underneath Thalia Hall in the Tack Room in 2017. Doors open at 7pm with a set by DJ Carlos Guate. Special appearances by La Academia Academy of Mexican Dance and Edson de Cuba.
