Emmet Cohen is a multifaceted American jazz pianist and composer, recognized as a pivotal figure among his generation's musicians. A prodigy who began Suzuki method piano instruction at age three, Cohen's early start laid the foundation for a mature melding of musicality, technique, and concept. He leads the Emmet Cohen Trio and is the creator of the Masters Legacy Series, a project dedicated to celebrating and preserving the artistry of legendary jazz musicians. Cohen's accolades include winning the 2019 American Pianists Awards and being a finalist in the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition.  Throughout his career, Cohen has collaborated with a multitude of esteemed artists, both through his Masters Legacy Series and other projects. The series features albums, live interviews, and performances with jazz luminaries such as Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, Benny Golson, Albert "Tootie" Heath, George Coleman, and Houston Person. Beyond this series, Cohen has performed alongside Christian McBride, Herlin Riley, Brian Lynch, Joe Lovano, Eddie Henderson, and George Coleman. His dedication to the intergenerational transference of knowledge is evident in his efforts to bridge the gap between jazz masters and emerging artists, ensuring the preservation and evolution of America's unique artistic idiom. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
