Latin Grammy winner and six-times Grammy nominated pianist and composer Emilio Solla was born and raised in Argentina and has been living in NY since 2007.  La Inestable de Brooklyn is a nine-piece orchestra with an unusual instrumental combination which allows the composer to project textures and sounds evoking a wide range of styles and influences, from academic counterpoint writing to free improvisation, from traditional tango and Latin American grooves to a standard trio plus horns that brings at times the classical color of the greatest and most distinctly American art form: jazz music.  Alejandro Aviles, alto, soprano, flute, piccolo Dave Pietro, tenor, clarinet & bass clarinet John Bailey, trumpet & flugelhorn Mike Fahie, trombone Sara Caswell, violin Rodolfo Zanetti, bandoneon Emilio Solla, piano & composition Edward Perez, double bass Rogerio Bocatto, drums & percussion   In 2015 they recorded “Second Half” which received a Grammy Nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album. The orchestra will be presenting new music commissioned by the 2023 New Jazz Works Grant by Chamber Music America.
