On Wednesday, October 29th we welcome authors Tom Perrotta and Alice Hoffman, and musical acts Highway Hosiery and Adam Sherman. More information at Earfull.org.
Tom Perrotta is the author of ten works of fiction, including Election and Little Children, both of which were made into Academy-award nominated films, and The Leftovers and Mrs. Fletcher, which were adapted into acclaimed HBO series. Perrotta’s new novel, Ghost Town, will be published by Scribner in April of 2026. He lives in Belmont, and has made several appearances at Earfull over the years.
Highway Hosiery is the duo project of Elizabeth Steen (accordion, keys) and Jude Heichelbech (cello, stompbox.) Steen is a seasoned accordionist/keyboardist who has played and toured along Natalie Merchant, Tanya Donelly, and Billy Bragg among others, and Heichelbech is a mostly self-taught multi-instrumentalist and visual artist. Together, they pen catchy tunes about trial, love and other oddities that span pop, jazz, rock and roots, with a slant born out of their deep Pennsyltucky upbringings. Both are the daughters of English professors and musicians and have occupied the same seat at the keyboards for Count Zero. They are at work on an album to be released later this year.
Alice Hoffman is the author of more than thirty works of fiction, including When We Flew Away, The Invisible Hour, The Book of Magic, Magic Lessons: The Prequel to Practical Magic, The World That We Knew, The Rules of Magic, Faithful, The Marriage of Opposites, The Museum of Extraordinary Things, The Dovekeepers, Practical Magic, The Red Garden, and the Oprah’s Book Club selection Here on Earth. She lives near Boston.
Adam Sherman is a veteran Boston singer‑songwriter and guitarist whose music has inspired for nearly five decades. From Private Lightning and The Souls to a rich solo career, he’s been a steady, captivating force in the Northeast music scene. In 2025, with a new EP and ongoing residency, his creative spark shines brighter than ever.
