Don Paul & Rivers Answer Moons is a visionary New Orleans ensemble led by poet, author, and activist Don Paul. Blending spoken-word poetry with the deep grooves of jazz, funk, and roots music, the group brings together some of the Crescent City’s most accomplished musicians—including saxophone legend Roger Lewis (Dirty Dozen Brass Band), master drummer Herlin Riley, and sousaphonist Kirk Joseph. Their work is as much a celebration of Louisiana’s cultural spirit as it is a call to reflect, move, and imagine. The ensemble’s recent double album Louisiana Stories weaves vivid poetic narratives with lush, genre-crossing arrangements, earning praise for its originality and emotional depth.

On stage, Rivers Answer Moons delivers a powerful, immersive experience that fuses the energy of live jazz with the rhythm and resonance of spoken word. Their performances are both intimate and expansive—shaped by the city’s sonic traditions and elevated by Don Paul’s poetic voice. Whether performing at storied venues like the Marigny Opera House or in community spaces around New Orleans, the group offers audiences a rare and resonant fusion of music and message, rooted in rhythm, memory, and place.

Snug Harbor's Dining Room is open for dinner from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a meal before or after your show. Advance ticket holders can now conveniently reserve dinner tables online via OpenTable.com. Alternatively, you may email your E-ticket confirmation along with your dinner reservation request to reservations@snugjazz.com after purchasing your concert tickets. Guests without advance concert tickets are also welcome to dine, but seating in the Dining Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

The Bar Room is open to all guests from 5:00 PM to Midnight, regardless of whether you have tickets. Please note that full dinner service is not available inside the Music Room. To preserve the quiet and focus of our intimate, world-class concerts, only cheese and charcuterie trays, cocktails, and soft drinks are offered at your table during the performance. For the best experience, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 minutes before your showtime to enjoy a full, relaxing dinner in the Dining Room next door.

Due to our venue's limited seating capacity, we strongly recommend purchasing advance tickets to guarantee your seat for this acclaimed show.
