Delfeayo Marsalis is one of the top trombonists, composers, and producers in jazz today. Known for his “technical excellence, inventive mind and frequent touches of humor…” (Leonard Feather, Los Angeles Times), he is “…one of the best, most imaginative and musical of the trombonists of his generation.” (Philip Elwood, San Francisco Examiner). Early influences on Delfeayo's style included J.J. Johnson, Curtis Fuller, Al Grey, Tyree Glenn, Tommy Dorsey, and Duke Ellington’s trombone masters. From the age of 17 until the present, he has produced over 100 recordings for major artists including Harry Connick Jr, Spike Lee, Terence Blanchard, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and his father and brothers. In January 2011, Delfeayo and the Marsalis family (father Ellis and brothers Branford, Wynton, and Jason) earned the nation’s highest jazz honor – a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Masters Award, thus dubbing them "America's First Family of Jazz." Delfeayo has proven himself an exceptional trombonist who has toured internationally with his own groups, including the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, as well as those led by five renowned bandleaders. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for the show. 8pm ticket holders can also enjoy dinner, dessert or appetizers after the show, with Dining Room seating only guaranteed by submitting your table request before 8pm.
