Heavy Metal
Nehemiah was formed in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the year 2000. 2/3 of the band members were still in high school. The sound and compositions, spearheaded by guitarist Logan Kelly, were primarily inspired by that era's booming wave of Scandinavian metal bands including but not limited to , , , and of course . Though the band's sound had it's grounding in melodic death & black metal, they would find a home for live performances in Minneapolis's vivacious hardcore scene. After the release of a 5-song, self-titled demo, Nehemiah instantly saw an electric response from the local crowds, soon finding further inspiration in the energies of local favorites such as , , Season Of Fire, Rains of Apathy, and soon making their name known across the greater Midwest by involving themselves with kindred spirits such as , , and .
In 2003, Nehemiah signed with Uprising Records and released their proper debut LP, , but before the band could start touring, Kelly relocated to Milwaukee to start . Kelly elected guitarist Aaron Nelson to take his place as lead guitarist, and the band carried on with their first handful of U.S. tours, with bands such as Cast From Eden, , and . After a Nelson-penned 2005 release, the 'Lenore' EP, the band saw it's demise before the end of the year.
