Altalune began as two people trying to rebuild—Connor Fontaine and Zac Crumpton—writing in a living room north of Nashville and releasing early tracks like October and Black. A year later, they found drummer Zach Ousnamer through a Reddit thread, and the three began shaping the sound behind songs like Someone Like Me, Someday, and Flicker and Fade, cycling through musicians until the lineup felt right. That final piece arrived with bassist Aaron Cheatham, whose technical, jazz-influenced playing helped solidify the band’s direction. Now a four-piece, Altalune continues refining a sound rooted in the spirit of the early 2000s. And as for Terry? We’re all still trying to figure that out.
