Thomas the Tank Engine™ will chug into the Colorado Railroad Museum in September 2018. All Thomas fans are invited to come spend the day with their favorite No. 1 engine. For 65 years, children have been captivated by the courageous adventures of Thomas and his engine friends.  A Day Out With Thomas is an exciting way for children and grown-ups to enter the world of Thomas & Friends™. The event provides an opportunity for kids to ride on board a train led by Thomas and have their pictures taken with Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of Thomas’ railway. Admission includes access to Museum exhibits and model trains, and special Day Out With Thomas activities, including a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, Imagination Station (train table play area), sing-a-longs, bean bag toss, hula hoops, bubbles, ladder golf & a magic show! The Day Out With Thomas merchandise tent includes a wide variety of items not carried by the Museum. Members DO NOT receive a discount on items purchased in the merchandise tent. Food and Picnics: The Museum will host a wide range of food vendors for lunch, snacks & dessert. Or bring your own picnic lunch, however, please note that the Museum has no locker or storage facilities.  Both alcohol and cooking are prohibited. Museum Hours: The Museum is open at 8:00 a.m. The grounds will close by 6:00 p.m.  Late afternoon riders, be sure to arrive at least two hours before your scheduled ride to enjoy all the Day Out With Thomas activities which close at 5:00PM. This is an all-weather event and will operate rain or shine. We highly recommend you to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled train departure.
