David Navarro is a Cuban trumpet player based in New Orleans and part of the next generation of Cuban jazz musicians moving into the jazz spotlight. Renowned for his versatility and skill, Mr. Navarro won the prestigious Jazz at Lincoln Center "Essentially Ellington" award. He has performed with greats of Cuban music and Spanish language pop music, like Emilio Morales, Bellita y su Jazztumbatá, El Niño y la Verdad, and José Alberto “El Canario”. Navarro plays regularly in New Orleans, and at festivals around the world, with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, The NOJO 7, Charlie and the Tropicales, Cimafunk, and many more jazz, Latin jazz and Latin pop groups.
