CYBILL SHEPHERD
, Emmy Award-nominee & Golden Globe-winning Actress & Singer, brings her new show entitled QUEEN OF THE LUCKY CLUB to the Palm Springs Cultural Center in Palm Springs, CA! Join us...

LIVE! SAT, FEB 21st at 7:00PM. Meet & Greet begins at 5:30PM.

If Luck be a lady, that lady is the lovely Cybill Shepherd. Looks that made her a model. Talent that made her a name. Charm that made her a superstar. And a love of music she’s had since she was a little girl that gave her a voice. It’s a side of Cybill you may not know but a side you’ll fall in love with.

Before she won our hearts on both the small and silver screens, Cybill was just a southern belle born in Tennessee singing in the church choir. Her Memphis roots gave her the gift of Blues, Pop, and Jazz, and her voice will wrap you up in warmth, love, and a smile.

In this new special presentation, Ms. Shepherd will play important scenes from her film and television career, never-before-seen video clips, and discuss what was happening and who was involved, share candid stories, perform music from her career and jazz standards, and answer questions from the audience.

Join us at the Palm Springs Cultural Center where Cybill graciously shares the soundtrack of her life, the magic of Memphis music, and how she came to be Queen of the Lucky Club.

Music Directed by pianist SUNNIE PAXSON with her all-star band.

Tickets: $75-125, Artist Circle with Meet & Greet available. Online at www.PSCulturalCenter.org or ChrisIsaacsonPresents.com

CYBILL SHEPHERD: QUEEN OF THE LUCKY CLUB (Emmy Award-nominee & Golden Globe-winning Actress & Singer)

  • Cybill Shepherd

    Film

Joan Rivers candidly told CYBILL SHEPHERD that she was “Queen of the F’ng Lucky Club,” something she embraced wholeheartedly. She was 16 when she won the Miss Teenage Memphis pageant. After graduating high school, she followed up on a model agency invitation to New York and was named winner of the Model of The Year pageant. As a result, Her career soared. It was one look at Cybill on a Glamour magazine cover by Peter Bogdanovich that landed the 21-year-old her breakthrough movie role in The Last Picture Show. This glance catapulted her acting career and led her to be cast in The Heartbreak Kid and Taxi Driver. She went on to receive four Golden Globes and multiple Emmy nominations.

While most have known Cybill from TV and film, she says “I was a singer first.”  At age nine, she was invited to join Holy Communion Episcopal Church choir in Memphis and was training with a vocal coach by sixteen. During her high school years, she started a folk group, Cybill and Friends, that surprisingly generated income. Cybill leaned into her Memphis roots, creating a diverse & extensive repertoire including jazz standards, blues, and pop. In the live on-screen musical comedy At Long Last Love and the notable TV roles in The Cybill Show and Moonlighting with Bruce Willis gave her the opportunity to exhibit her live musical talent.

As “luck” would have it, Cybill has performed on acclaimed stages from New York to London. She collaborated with the likes of Stan Getz, Artie Butler, Sid Selvidge & Oscar Castro-Neves and other superb jazz musicians, recording 11 CDs.

Cybill steps back in the spotlight with a passion for connecting us through song. She invites us to join her on a musical journey that  celebrates the enduring magic and memory of music.

This recording project landed her on the Jazz Week list of Top100 Artists receiving the most spins and Los Angeles Magazine lauded her as one of the “Best Jazz Performers in LA.” Her “Bohemian Sun” CD, released on Stanley Clarke’s Roxboro Entertainment label and recorded with Stanley Clarke, Ronald Brunner Jr, and Munyungo Jackson is a show of her solid jazz roots. This CD has been very well received by radio throughout the world. Along with doing shows with her own band, for the past decade Sunnie has performed regularly with Ray Sidney and his gospel band Firm Soundation, touring to Tokyo and Mito (sister city of Anaheim CA) to perform and record with a 400-voice choir. This fulfills Sunnie’s love of Gospel music as heard on her original composition “Say A Prayer” on her Bohemian Sun CD and “Spirit’s in The House” on her Wild Soul CD. “ Writing, producing, arranging and performing are all facets of the art of music that I love. My goal is to make people feel good,” sums up how she feels about her lifelong passion. She takes the joys and the heartbreaks of life and transforms them into songs.
