As the pandemic of 2020 captured America, Martin Elliot Jaffe AKA Congito Jaffe began to wind down his forty year career counseling career and focus more energy on singing/songwriting--sharing the lyrics of his wife, the published poet Lady Ives of Rocky River and his musical arrangements, guitar and vocal stylings.   Prior to retirement Congito began playing the congas/bongos for the Tischler klezmer orchestra (TKO) and continues to do so. Congito began bass and guitar instruction with well known instructor and player in local band Lee MCClleand and continues-- He began to play bass with  two guitarists at local jam nights, mostly blues and instrumentals and as the pandemic eased to begin to play his own and Lady Ives material at jam nights and coffeehouse bookings, the first solo event held at Blue cafe in Lakewood, in March 2022.   Congito honed his skills and gained confidence and expertise as a participant at several national workshops for songwriters including Lamb's retreat in Harbor Springs Michigan,Capon West Virginia with Dave Nachmanoff and Fur Peace ranch in Ohio.   Congito has published several well received articles in varied publications on musical topics including Latin percussion, Bluegrass, Leonard Cohen and wona an award from the Cleveland Jewish News on January 17,2020 for his essay/article for a contest HOW HAS MUSIC INFLUENCED YOU?.
