We are a jam band at our roots. Our style is very passionate and energetic. We pour our emotions into every lick and riff we play. We play Rock, Blues, Psychedelic, Reggae, and Hard rock with a more old school take, similar to Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin. We challenge ourselves to push our creativity and musicianship to a new level, and to make sure the crowd really gets down.

Based in Chicago, our stew of finely crafted musical elements is a recipe that we’ve been working to perfect since 2012 with different ingredients and instrumentalists interspersed along the way. In the current iteration, founder Derek Dare leads a quartet of fearless improvisers, Matthew Coglianese, Jake Hennessy and Bryan Scheinkopf, oftentimes surrounded by a rock solid horn section known only as ‘The Psychedelic TootBois’. Zoofunkyou is dedicated to creating inclusive events where people from all walks of life can feel safe and bring the emotional gratitude we exude from the stage home with them - and maybe a new friend or two. With a wide repertoire of both gripping original music and tasteful covers, our live shows have proven time and time again to enthrall, grow and inspire our vibrant fan base, the Zoofü crew.
