Colton Dixon has always used music to connect. The Gold-certified award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has witnessed music’s positive impact firsthand. He’s seen it break down barriers, defy expectations, and unite people in packed arenas worldwide. He’s watched it heal pain, inspire smiles, and lift spirits. As such, he treats his chosen artform with the utmost care and respect. Rather than ever force it, he catches inspiration as it comes and shares emotion with integrity.
After netting nearly 1 billion streams, notching successive #1 entries on various Billboard and radio charts, and selling out tours, his artistry continues to connect straight from the heart on a series of 2025 singles for Fairtrade Services and more to come.
“I believe the same things about music I did twenty years ago when I first started to think it could be for me,” he explains. “It’s the only universal language we all speak. With the right lyrics, it can be life-changing. Regardless of politics, religion, or any other beliefs, it brings us together. I realize the power it carries, but I also recognize the responsibility to use it well. It’s why I’ve dedicated my life to writing positively and still finding hope in darkness.”
This pure approach has seen Colton make history. Back in 2013, he achieved “the biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act” with his full-length debut LP, A Messenger. It paved the way for the fan favorite Anchor [2014] and Identity [2017], marking three straight #1 debuts on the Billboard Top Christian Albums Chart. Meanwhile, 2020’s “Miracles” took flight, reacting with audiences. Two years later, he elevated to another stratosphere altogether with “Build A Boat.” The latter was certified Gold by the RIAA, generated 179 million-plus streams, attracted multiplatinum country superstar Gabby Barrett for a duet version, captured #1 on both the Billboard Hot Christian Songs Chart and Christian Airplay Chart, and soared as “the longest-running Mediabase Christian AC #1 song of 2022.” Plus, it inspired the popular children’s book—also entitled Build A Boat—which Colton penned. In the wake of this success, “Miracles” was certified Gold by the RIAA too. All the while, he distinguished himself as the rare presence who could perform at the White House’s National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony or at the Grand Ole Opry. He maintained this momentum with “Rest Of My Life,” which played over the credits of Angel Studios’ SIGHT starring Terry Chen and Greg Kinnear. During 2024, he dropped “UP+UP,” surpassing 10 million streams within a few months’ time. Simultaneously, he has performed on Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and Today in addition to receiving praise from People and numerous outlets. Not to mention, Steinway & Sons welcomed him to its roster as an endorsee alongside the likes of Billy Joel, Harry Connick, Jr. and more. 2025 saw him launch his own fragrance “Desert Rain” in collaboration with Day Three Fragrances.
He also continued to forge ahead creatively. This time around, he leaned into being a dad as a core inspiration.
“Fatherhood has shaped every area of my life—from my spiritual walk to how I approach songwriting,” he affirms. “I remember meeting my girls for the first time in the hospital and thinking, ‘I would do anything for them’. I know I’m not just writing for myself or people I don’t know; I’m writing for my kids. My daughters will hear these songs, whether they want to or not. I want to make sure I’m singing about subjects that matter.”
His brand new single, “The Love I Have For You,” embodies this approach. On the track, piano twinkles as strings swell in the background. The sound of a ticking clock sets the tempo, and the percussion thumps beneath his upbeat cadence. A rush of guitar and claps boost the chorus, and he’s reassured, “With the love I have for you, ain’t a mountain you can’t move. In the dark, I’ll be the light. In the fire, I’m by your side. When you’re weak, I’ll be strong….You’re gonna make it through with the love I have for you.”
“The last few years have been incredible,” he says. “However, I was really running on fumes a few times when I was trying to balance work, life, family, and everything in between. I prayed, ‘God, help me here, because I don’t know how much longer I can do this’. I went back to Romans 8:37. To paraphrase, it says, ‘We are more than conquerors because of the love that lives inside of us’. I felt like being just a ‘conqueror’ would’ve been okay, but He says, ‘You’re going to absolutely get through whatever you’re facing because of how much I love you and the love you carry within’. I can get into striving mode as a creative, and it trickles into other areas of my life. Resting in the fact I’m loved by the creator of the Universe is special though. The song reminds me with God’s love there’s nothing I can’t tackle.”
Ultimately, Colton is making songs that shine light when you need it and give you that last little nudge to make it through any obstacle with a smile.
“At the end of the day, I’m just a Christian, a husband, a father, a singer, and a songwriter,” he says. “I just hope to leave a good impression. If you listen to my music or come to a show, I hope you feel better than you would’ve if you didn’t. That intention has really shaped who I am.”
