Twin brothers Ras and Taj Austin, sons of West Coast rap legend Ras Kass and Soul songstress Teedra Moses, met Colombian-born Rio Loz in high school to assemble Coast Contra. After releasing their first mixtape, the trio found its fourth member Eric Jamal, a bubbling rapper out of North Philadelphia, PA.

Brooklyn-based female rap duo, Girll Codee is gearing up to take the world by storm with their unwavering lyrical magnetism and momentous ambition. The young and burgeoning group, composed of high school friends, ShaaBiggaa and HiiiSiddity, embody the gruff and rawness of New York City’s quintessential hip-hop culture. Biggaa and Siddity’s repertoire bubbles with limitless audacity, unbridled complex wordplay, and resounding sonic conviction. Biggaa and Siddity were born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. The energetic pair claim the entirety of Brooklyn, as they’ve experienced, made their mark, and derived inspiration from all that the borough has to offer. Growing up, Biggaa’s first entrance into rap was through writing diss tracks about those around her. The solace she found in watching freestyles by lyrical savants like Remy Ma and Meek Mill inspired her to continue chasing and developing her own unique cadence. Siddity’s introduction to music stems from her father who worked as a DJ in New York City nightclubs. Her musical household encouraged her to sing and write R&B melodies, whilst flirting with the world of hip-hop. The Brooklyn fem-duo were formally introduced to each other at the beginning of their freshman year in high school while sitting next to each other during an algebra class. Upon meeting, Biggaa and Siddity immediately struck an ever-lasting friendship. For fun, the childhood friends engaged in ciphers in- and outside the classroom with their peers, wrote and shared fierce rhymes with each other, and freestyled on a daily basis. Rapping as a pastime posed as a source of release, entertainment, and melding of their musical backgrounds and identities. Although they had not yet established a rap group, Biggaa and Siddity playfully dipped their toes into the world of rap, unaware that their piercing libretto could propel them into the limelight. It was not until 2019 that the female emcees accidently went viral on Instagram with their video “Girll Codee Freestyle”, a remix of Busta Rhymes’ track, “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See”. The millions of positive responses over their high-quality improvisation inspired Biggaa and Siddity to formally create a rap duo and pursue their newfound dream of creating music that everyone could enjoy. The newfound internet fame and fans (whom they call Co-Deez) gifted the fem-cees the name Girll Codee. The elongated spelling of the group’s name is indicative of their vigorous and braggadocious personalities, as they, per New York City slang, like to “drag’”everything and everyone. The Brooklyn duo continued to showcase their bodacious freestyles on Hot 97 and Bars On I-95. Receiving co-signs from the Tri-State areas hottest DJs, Funk Flex, A.B., Cease, and DJ Enuff, Girll Codee continued to build momentum. In 2021, Girll Codee released a remix, or G-mix (Girll Codee remix) to Kayla Nicole’s “Bundles'' and video “El-Bonics”. With a growing fanbase and their city behind them, ShaaBiggaa and HiiiSiddity have built anticipation for their forthcoming releases. Girll Codee’s uncompromising bars have demonstrated that their pen knows no limitations for what women rap about and their music can and will be enjoyed by the masses. The sublime girl group refuses to be contained and are preparing to unapologetically demonstrate their unique and authentic perspective on the rap game.
